"Greetings from Sunny Florida!" Each time I saw a post from Kristy Dykes, that's what I remember her saying. Her positive attitude came shining through--ALWAYS. Something tells me even if she had lived in Indiana, she would have been positive.

Though our loss is certainly Heaven's gain, my heart aches with the passing of our sister in Christ and fellow writer. Kristy and I shared the same birthday and each year made a point to wish each other a happy day. It's only a couple of weeks away now. I will miss her note this year. But something tells me she'll be having her best party yet!

Her positive spirit was contagious and her love for the written word was inspiring. If you didn't know her, you missed out, and if you did know her--even if only a little--I'm sure she affected your life in some way, too.

Let's remember to pray for Kristy's family during these difficult days and the days ahead.

Kristy, we will never forget you!

  1. The thing I will always remember about her is the love affair she shared with Milton. I couldn't believe a woman could be married that long and so gonzo over her husband, but then I saw them in person, holding hands and gazing at one another like there was no one else in the room.

I think that Kristy truly knew how to love and what an amazing testimony that is, that she could be so filled with the spirit, it would confuse others. Many blessings to the Dykes family as they grieve this incredible woman. She was an inspiration to us all. Kristin

  3. Amen to the prayers for her family -- they must ache over the loss of such an amazing woman. Though we all know she's rejoicing right now, it still hurts to lose a loved one.

  7. Kristy left such a legacy of love, service and smiles. There is a definite void in this world with her departure, but it's comforting knowing she's free from her pain and rejoicing and partying on streets of gold!

I'll never forget the first time I met Kristy. She scoped me out because of my red hair, but then gave me some awesome encouragement about my writing. So glad I listened or I might not be published today!

And like Kristin said, the demonstration of pure love she and Milton shared....wow!

    We'll definitely miss her.
