Girls Write Out

Colleen is a guest on the Harvest show this morning! Go to http://www.harvest-tv.com and click on "Show Info" to see what channel. You can also watch online.  With Denise's news and Colleen on TV, we're just having all kinds of fun this week!

I was thinking this morning how I'm such a creature of habit. Eyes pop open, slug my way to the morning coffee, sit down and drink it while working on my Bible study, shower, then open my computer for email and then on to writing. How predictable.  Notice I didn't have "exercise" in that mix. I haven't quite made that a habit yet. Once a week habit, just isn't cuttin' it.

After writing, I almost always go visit my daughter and grandkids. Then it's back to the house to prepare dinner and settle in to a nice, restful evening with hubby (or go to whatever meetings we have).

Anyway, I might shake things up this week. Notice I said "might." Habits don't break easily. Just ask the lady who's sat in the same pew for 250 years.  Not sure how I'll mix it up, though.  Any ideas?  Anyone else brave enough to share their "routine?"

I'm a creature of habit. My morning habit is to take the kids to school, come home and do Bible study, catch up on email then write until I meet my quota.

After that it's errands and housework until I pick up my kids at 3 and then it's every man for himself. :-)

Congrats Colleen and Denise for ya'll awards and appearances! And Denise, I hope you win the RITA.

My schedule (on a good day) is pretty mundane: wake up, devotions, school, piano practice, exercise (sorry Diann!), shower, family time, writing. Oh, and there are usually some meals in there, too. :)

I just watched this week's episode of the Biggest Loser. I need to shake things up and get back to exercising! Just as soon as I quit coughing. Oh wait, is that an excuse? LOL

Alright, you all can come to my house if you need a shake up in routine! I have a 4 and 2 year old. We have regular nap and bedtimes, and meals, but beyond that, the routine gets crazy.

"What do you mean, the kitty is taking a bath? No, wait, honey! That's not a bathtub!"

"You've been using the heat vent as a trash can? Oh, no!"

"Where did you get that? Is that lipstick?"

You get the idea.

Sometimes just drinking coffee from that fine china cup, or putting on lipstick in the afternoon, or ordering a different style of checks can be enough to bring a little bounce in the same-old same-old.

I think I may still have some lipstick....I'll check the heat vent, first.

Colleen, coughing is definitely a valid reason to NOT exercise. (that's why I've been "coughing" the last 5 years) lol

Habits. I'm terrible!! I sleep until I only have 30 min to race through the bathroom and get to work. I slam a Slim Fast (shush Kristin - don't scold me) for breakfast and then about 5 cups of coffee. Then I work until 4:30ish and go home. Sometimes I hop on the bike if my dh isn't hurrying out the door to go to something like climbing or youth-related. People think I exercise because I "climb" but frankly, I drag myself up the rock face screaming in agony because I'm so out of shape! :) lol

My admission is I have no routine. I'm awful. So, don't learn anything from me! =0)

My schedule is pretty boring but let it be out of whack and watch me fall apart. Exercise is the first thing on it. Usually a walking dvd, wii fitness coach or pilates. Then quiet time. Pack my lunch and son's lunch. Shower and finish getting ready. Computer time and breakfast. Off to school. My school schedule is the same MOST days. The last few have NOT been. Makes me crazy. I never realize what a creature of habit I am until my habit it messed up.

When summer comes, I find a new routine. Usually exercise comes first in it. Most likely, walking outside or bike riding with hubby. If I don't exercise, first thing, it usually never gets done. I can find too many reasons why not to exercise.

Hit the snooze alarm every 9 minutes for an hour. Get up, drink a cup of coffee while checking emails and weather. Get the kids breakfast, make lunches, and drive kids to school. Come home and workout every M-F. On good days I do an hour and a half, on the days I feel like crap or have a cold (like this week - cruddy sick) I do 1/2 an hour, lol. I vary my workouts to keep it interesting: I have many dvds and tapes to choose from, an elliptical, and if it's nice out I'll throw in a 2 mile fast walk (2 miles in 30 minutes). I go from Gilad workouts (he is still hot after all these years) I taped in the 80s to current Gilad dvds, Denise Austin dvds, ballet workouts, Pilates, yoga, some Cheesy Cosmopolitan tapes from the 80s, to Tae Bo. After all that you'd think I wouldn't still be so fat, roflol. Eat breakfast, drink more coffee, and get back on computer while I call friends and chat for an hour or so. Take a shower and run out to do errands or stay home and clean, organize, think of new things to do around the house. Come home and take dog for walk; wait for kids to come home from school. b-o-r-i-n-g when I write it down, lol.

Cheryl, I loved the "hit the snooze button every nine minutes for an hour" thing!

Okay, you girls are shaming me with all your exercise. Just reading about it made me grab a chocolate bar.

I guess routine is okay, and it's okay to shake it up now and then--which is why I throw in exercise once every three weeks or so. *g*

I want to be a creature of habit, but I can't keep doing any one thing long enough to make it a habit.

'Bout the only thing I can say I do regularly is wake myself up with a Diet Vanilla Pepsi and a prayer...then chaos ensues!!

Maybe chaos is my habit???? LOL!!

I don't know if I could fit everything I do. I work part-time and I am up at 6:30 AM, getting myself and my boys ready for the day.

I do exercise regularly, 30 minutes on the treadmill usually at 6:30 PM if I can, intervals of jogging and walking, along with floor exercises. I still can't get rid of the flab though, hee...

Avon duties, blogging and e-mailing, the never-ending chores of laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting etc. Bible study at night and Bible story for the boys at their bedtime.

Church on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Soccer practice starts next week and that is added on to my schedule.

I do have a set schedule that helps me to have breaks in between but too long to post.

Luv ya Diann!
