HOME AWAY FROM HOME Maybe it's the old West flavor or the towering Tetons or the tall buttes surrounding the town, but Jackson Hole, Wyoming feels like my second home.
Of course, it could also be because I set my New Heights Series in this quaint mountain village. Even though this is only my second visit, I've spent months in this place (okay, it was only in my imagination, but still.) When we stopped here on our trip out west, we decided to spend a few days just soaking in the wonderful small town flavor.
I visited the terrific people at the Crisis Pregnancy Center (which Saving Grace centers around), introduced myself to the owner of Cottage Christian Bookstore and visited several places mentioned in my books.
We enjoyed the rodeo, whitewater rafting, and creek stomping, and my family loved the place as much as I do. Sometimes you just connect with a place, know what I mean?

Denise Hunter writes women's fiction and love stories with a strong emotional element. Her husband says he provides her with all her romantic material, but Denise insists a good imagination helps too.
Diann Hunt writes romantic comedy and humorous women's fiction. She has been happily married forever, loves her family, chocolate, her friends, chocolate, her dog, and well, chocolate.
Cheryl Hodde writes romantic medical suspense under the pen name of Hannah Alexander, using all the input she can get from her husband, Mel, for the medical expertise. For fun she hikes and reads. Out of guilt, she rescues discarded cats. She and Mel are presently taking orders from four pampered strays.

I LOVE Jackson Hole. We spent a week there on vacation last summer...in luxurious accomodations -- we stayed in a friend's condo at Snow King Resort.
It was wonderful how it cooled off at night, and the air was clean, and the views were gorgeous. Ahhh, wish I was there now!
Our friends that we stayed with last summer (it was actually her parent's condo) loved it so much that they built a vacation home in Idaho, just over the Tetons from Jackson. They are spending the whole summer there this year.
Yes, sometimes you connect wtih a place. How very cool. Sounds like you're having a good time!
