Girls Write Out
Monday, June 14, 2010

With one week of summer under my belt, I'm starting to feel like I might just make it. When the boys were little, it was a matter of surviving chaos 24/7--not so easy for my peace loving personality.

Now, it's a little more like Take Your Child to Work Day, every day. Deadlines loom (Why do deadlinews always LOOM?), but I've got a plan worked out that should keep me on track and still allow time to keep the house running and the kids happy.

What do you have planned for your summer . . . chaos, peace, work or a little of everything?

First off, I LOVE the family picture!!

Hubby is off for the summer, so we'll have lots of fun together! I plan on making memories with the grandkids, too--lots of going to the zoo, movies, and ice cream moments.

Now, I'll just have to figure out how to squeeze in some work time. :-)

Four more days of school and then we begin summer vacation. Yipee!

Daughter J is going to camp and has a friend from the States coming to visit. 5 or 6 friends are passing through, so we'll spend time with them. We're thinking about a short summer trip, but don't know where we'll go yet.

I've got TONS of work to do over the summer with transcripts and report card updates...but if I chip away at that a bit each day, it shouldn't be too bad.

Actually, for fun, I'm thinking of doing the July Novel Writing Month thing.... (NaNoWriMo in July!) Here's hoping that I can come up with a good idea in the next two weeks! :)

I am not doing anything so lofty as writing a novel. Instead, I will be spending most of the summer knitting and crocheting baby stuff for our new grandchild who is due to be born around the end of August. At the same time I am knitting a twin-size afghan for our 1st grandchild who is now in a "big boy" bed. So bored I will not be! (Pray that my poor arthritic and achy hands will hold up under the challenges ahead.)
