Girls Write Out
Friday, February 08, 2008

On a writer's loop of mine, we're doing our life stories by honing them down to six words. I love this idea, so share yours with us. What would it be?

Six word memoirs: life stories distilled -- here's mine

Princess by nature with good handbags.

I'm making one up for the rest of the girls, they can come on with their own if they don't like mine.

Colleen: Mom to everyone, kills for fun.
Diann: Hilariously overcoming bad luck with enjoyment.
Denise: Clean countertops, still waters run deep.

I wish you knew me well enough to come up with mine, Kristin. Diann's, Colleen's, Denise's and yours sounds about right. (Denise's cracked me up, although maybe you need to put a little about her drumming in there...ha)

For me? Hmm...Complicated Earth Mom with an Edge.

Ugh. I'm going to think some more. This would be a great exercise to do on characters.

My recent critiques craved details I'd recently slashed in search of efficiency, now this? Hmmm.

Bookaholic with wacky brain, gentle heart.

Finally, a word count I can manage without the use of math.

And I have to share that my word verification sounds like journey top in a Mad Gab kind of way. I'm so desperate for positive thinking, I'm finding it in jumbled letters.

Okay, if you can't do it for yourself, and your answers are GREAT so far, do it for a pet! Here's mine for Fiona:

NPR did a story on this the other day and there is a book and web site with both celebrities and 'normals' who have contributed. It was SHOCKINGLY entertaining.
