Girls Write Out
Sunday, November 07, 2010

We girls were at the ACFW conference together recently, and since Amber (Diann's fabulous photographer daughter) was there, we decided to get some shots while we were together.

We'll be showing some of the others soon, but I thought I'd give you a preview of our nutty photo shoot. As you might've guessed, there's a story behind this photo. It goes something like this:

"Hey, I have an idea," Colleen says. "Let's get a shot with one of us jumping on the couch--Kristin or Denise--and the rest of us watching."

"My balance is bad," Kristin says. Sure, play the MS card.

"Denise it is," says Colleen before I can even open my mouth.

"Hey, don't I get a say in this?"

Apparently not. I did get final veto power over the photos though, and I got my exercise for sure. Let's just say we didn't exactly get this in one take. But, hey, there's not much I won't do for my girls. So here it is, me going all Tom Cruise in Indianapolis.

But I'm sure you've never done anything silly or outrageous for your friends.

Hey I am not above using a disease when it's handy. Besides, you look DELIGHTFUL. It was definitely YOU. And now you can tell Kevin you had your Tom Cruise/Oprah moment over him. LOL Except his head wouldn't fit thru the door, so don't do that.

I LOVE that picture!

Oh! Denise! You look so cute!!!! Love this pic. :) When I saw it, though, I thought of the movie "Mama Mia" first, not Tom Cruise. I love that scene.

Done anything silly or crazy for my friends? Hahaha. Oh, yeah. Last spring I led all the moms and women teachers in a crazy, joyful(!) rendition of "Dancing Queen" at the Senior class banquet at our school --while the students looked on in surprise. (Haha! You go, moms!) And...a week later I twirled hockey sticks with my friend Anna to "Ride of the Valkyries" during the school awards assembly. For my friends? Anything. I'm not above silly and outrageous.

Yes, let's not bring Kevin into this. LOL

Wow, Pam, you really will do anything for your friends. :-)

This is the cutest picture!!! Love it! You were a good sport, D!

And there is nothing we wouldn't do for YOU--well, except maybe, um, this whole jumping on the couch thing. ;-) Love you, girlfriend!

That's a keeper, Denise! It's so cute of you! It's the kind you could even crop and take as a cute head shot. ;o)

Tom Cruise had a moment during an interview--was it Oprah?-- where he got on the couch onstage and jumped around. He was trying to convince us that he really was in love with his wife.
