Merry CHRISTmas :)
I love the song, "Strange Way To Save the World." It's sort of from Joseph's perspective and it's so moving.
Thank you for the Christmas greetings. Blessings to you and your family.
I'm terribly curious how long the Holy family spent in Egypt! And do you think they used the gold, frankincense and myrrh to help support themselves there? Do you think the shepherds ever recovered from the multitude of heavenly host or were they forever stunned?
These things float around in my head, and I'm SO glad someone else wonders, too!

I've often wondered about Joseph and his reactions to all that happened. I wish I knew more about him, his thoughts about Mary, Jesus - what it felt like to be a role model to God's son as he grew up. Just how long was he involved with Jesus' life?
Wishing you & your family a wonderful Christmas and a coming year full of God's love & grace.
There are a couple of beautiful songs out there about Joseph. Our worship pastor, Jason, sang one the other night that was so moving!
Hi Colleen --
You know, I haven't thought about Joseph near as much as others I might meet in heaven. He had to have faith to stay with Mary and she had to have faith to believe it would all be OK. Yet, they didn't understand completely Jesus' ministry. They were upset when he taught in the synagogue at age 12 and didn't understand His answer that He was about His Father's business.
I wonder about his brothers and sisters and if they were jealous that Jesus never did anything wrong. It must have been frustrating at times!
I think of the faith and obedience of the three Wise Men who took that long trip to follow the star. Faith + obedience. It seems to be a theme throughout the Bible.
Thanks for the food for thought. I sometimes get caught up in the 'business' of Christmas that I let the real meaning sort of slip away. I always read the story of Jesus' birth at our family gatherings since I was a little girl and would appreciate prayers as I am going to be with family that aren't Christians this year.
I ask that God would give me the strength to ask if I could read this story before the gifts are opened and that I will get through it without my nerves getting the best of me.
Without Jesus, there would be no holiday, and I really appreciate your questions that make us think.
Merry Christmas!
Cheri
