I got a Kindle the end of September but hadn't had a chance to read it for about a month. Denise Hunter writes women's fiction and love stories with a strong emotional element. Her husband says he provides her with all her romantic material, but Denise insists a good imagination helps too.
Diann Hunt writes romantic comedy and humorous women's fiction. She has been happily married forever, loves her family, chocolate, her friends, chocolate, her dog, and well, chocolate.
Cheryl Hodde writes romantic medical suspense under the pen name of Hannah Alexander, using all the input she can get from her husband, Mel, for the medical expertise. For fun she hikes and reads. Out of guilt, she rescues discarded cats. She and Mel are presently taking orders from four pampered strays.

I have a heart for the underdog. (I suppose that's also a desire for justice.)
LOL I love that book. He gets his justice! But then his character proves stronger and living well is the best revenge. He leaves them all to their misery. Love that.
I have a migraine, so right now my basic trait is just to get up. : (
I think you nailed it for me, too, Colleen. When the villain is too inhumane and gets away with too much for too long, it just depresses me. Yes, I do like to see justice in the end, but sometimes my need for justice, when pushed too far, becomes bloodlust, and I want that villain to suffer horribly. It makes me grumpy.
It's just getting to that part, Kristin! LOL Cheryl nailed it for me too. I can't stand to watch someone be unjustly imprisoned. That gets me more than anything. Not sure why.

Don't you love how he survives it and overcomes though? You're right, it is tough getting to that point, especially when he's in jail, but you're so happy for him to meet his neighbor and have a friend...and then the escape. But that's the reason men love a good cowboy movie, right? The bad guy loses.
I think what I can't take is when people are truly evil. When they have no conscience. Like Montego who wants the girl so bad he's willing to betray her love to "get" her. The ultimate antithesis of love: control.
One of my favorite books is by Dumas' son (Camille) and you would hate it because it's the ultimate in unfair, but that's who Dumas, Sr. was. He abandoned his family and ruined Dumas, Jr.' s mother. The son got his revenge in print too. : )
What I hate even more than the unfair advantage some characters take over others is when a book ends on a less than happy note. I have nearly thrown a book down because the "bad guy" gets by with the crime or the protagonist dies. How depressing can you get??
Me?? I like a good "shoot-em-up" or romance. Just make sure the good guy wins and gets the girl!
I like a happy ending. I won't knowingly read a book that doesn't have one. We just watched a Batman movie and Batman says to the bad guy "I'm not going to kill you, but I don't have to save you." I thought that was interesting. One hates to wish the bad guy dead, but you also want to see him pay for his crimes and the ones he hurt to have their day.
Happy ending is a must for me. When I watch a movie that has a bad ending I'm upset all day thinking that I wasted two hours of my life watching that thing!
Life is hard enough without entertainment that makes me feel worse.
