TODAY IS COLLEEN'S BIRTHDAY!!

Birthdays are such fun. No matter how old I get, I still look forward to my birthday. These days, I'm just happy to have one! :-)

So in honor of Colleen's Birthday, I thought we might share a favorite birthday memory. I can't say I have a particular favorite, but my best memories are of our family gathered around a table laden with cake and candles, napkins, balloons, and remembering our kids' wide-eyed excitement as they gave me their gifts. Special bonding time. Tradition. That's what birthdays are all about. Letting people you love know that you care about them and you are happy they were born.

So let's have a party in honor of Colleen!! Share your birthday memory. Maybe it was someone else's birthday that you want to share. That's okay, too. Let's have fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COLLEEN! We love you!!

When I was 5 or 6, I was invited to a birthday party and I was so excited because I'd never been to one. I'd heard about them, though. Unfortunately, I was under the perception that *I* would be the one receiving all the gifts. Imagine my dismay when I realized it was the birthday girl who'd receive them. I cried all the way home. LOL

Not my fav birthday memory, but a memorable one.

Living in Gainesville, Florida, a few years ago I decided to have my birthday in St. Augustine on Floridas east coast. Coincidentally, it occured during a time when a hurricane came through, brushing the Gainesville area and passing by St. Augustine. I drove to the coast without being able to see the roads as they were underwater almost all the way to the coast. When I arrived, the hotel was off of A-1-A. The entire stretch of hotels on the beach were blacked out as the electric system was down along the coast. A-1-A was blocked off just after I got there. Some friends had to come in from several miles to the south at another entrance to the highway. I found my room with a flashlight and had a candle inside for light. The wind was blowing so hard that it was coming in through the sliding glass doors. The sound it made sounded like the sea was throwing up its dead. The wailing through the edges of the glass partitions sounded like people screaming outside. It was eerie. The next day St. Augustine was practically vacant. Trees were overturned all over. Roads were blocked off throughout the city from debris. My friends and I went to the Milltop Inn and had the place to ourselves. Best birthday ever.

Happy Birthday, Colleen!
I don't have a particular birthday memory. I just had a birthday last week and it was just a regular day. Got a few Doctor Who dvds which I've enjoyed. Lots of FB wishes which was nice. My daughter was born the week after my 33rd birthday so I guess that one would be my favorite. :-)

Happy Birthday, Colleen!!! May your day be blessed!

When I was 7-8, I had gone to a couple of girls' bd parties. I saw one got a pair of little girl high heel shoes. So I talked my mom into a party, hoping I'd get a pair. NADA! But the party was fun!
