Girls Write Out

With Mother's Day fast approaching, I thought it would be great to post a line or two of thanks to our mothers--or maybe a line or two of thanks for being a mother. I'll start. :-)

I want to thank my mom for her sacrificial love that changed my world. I want to thank the Lord for the privilege of being a mom to two wonderful kids--now adults (both pictures are them)--and pray that I will be the mother God created me to be.

Your turn . . . .

I got back from Florida this Monday and said I wanted to take the kids next time. She said, "No, you go alone. You're always so happy traveling."

Mommy giving you permission to refresh is amazing, right? She doesn't tell me I"m a bad mother, she doesn't judge. Now granted, she may want the kids for herself, but...

My mom is the most unselfish person I know. Seriously.

I want to thank my mom for being a great example to me and for always supporting me in whatever I tried. I want to thank God for the privilege of being mom to J, a wonderful 16 year old. I am delighted to have her as a daughter.

I am so thankful for a mom who taught me by example, especially when it comes to being a mom of adult children. I have worked hard to follow what my mom taught me and I think it's paid off: My 30-year-old son called me the other day "just cuz we hadn't visited in a while." You can imagine that my heart soared! I am also thankful that God gave me the privilege of being mom to this really neat man!

I'm thankful my birth mother gave life to me and my adopted mother raised me to life. Both are in Heaven and I hope are fast friends now. :)

I'm thankful that my mother is still here with us at 91. I am thankful to be able to visit with her, either in person or by phone, especially those times we reminisce. I know those times may soon be memories so I am enjoying them now.
