Celebrating Dave Coble's successful surgery and healthy future!!! We thank the Lord with you, Dave and Colleen! Whoohoooooo!!!!
Speaking of thankfulness, I've heard some people keep a journal specifically for writing down things for which they're thankful. I like that idea. Richard Paul Evans has a thankful "Tuesday," I think it is. Where his facebook friends write down something for which they're thankful.
Practicing thankfulness. Sounds so easy, but it's not. We get busy and distracted and by the time we plop into bed at night, the day is spent and we fall asleep without a word of thanks on our lips. Thanks for the sunshine, the privilege of being alive, the fact we can walk, and feel the rain on our faces. A family who loves us--and even those who don't. :-)
The truth is we can complain about things--and boy, there always seems to be plenty to complain about, doesn't there? But if we focus on thankfulness, it helps us get through the tough spots.
I'm not talking about denial here. Life is hard. But God is always good. So I choose to focus on Him.
So here's my challenge. Take time to pause and reflect upon one thing you're thankful for today. Then share it with us. :-)
I'll start: I'm thankful for our little "blog cafe" where we can share life together. I'm thankful for YOU.

What a great idea! I think I'll copy that and do a thankful Thursday on fb. Speaking of which, I'm thankful for being able to keep up with long lost friends on fb. I know fb can soemtimes be a curse, but for the most part, it's a blessing to me! :)
this is a VERY GOOD post! :)
am very grateful !
talking about Richard Paul Evans
I just read his 2nd book
Miles to GO" it is a Way Cool read!
Oh, Jel, I read Richard's first book and really enjoyed it. I'll have to get the second one. Thanks for the heads up!
I love FB, too, Sheila, for connecting with old friends and even finding out what's going on with current friends. I know more about my church friends through FB than I do from church because we have two services and we hardly run into each other! LOL
I'm thankful that though my hubby's enlarged prostate is a serous problem, it is NOT cancer!
God is good.
You're so right. Life is hard, but God is good.
Rejoicing with you, Peggy, that your husband doesn't have cancer!
I'm thankful for the wonderful friends God has given me. And my darling hubby and kids. And that we are getting a new grandbaby! So much to be thankful for!
I am so grateful for God's grace and mercy.
When we struggle through the hard times it makes us appreciate the good times so much more.
My thanksgiving list would be pages, probably never ending, God sees me through.
I am thankful for writer friends who teach me and encourage me.
I am thankful for my two granddaughters, they bring a smile to my face.
Right now I am so thankful that we escaped the devastating tornadoes that were produced by the severe weather in the south. Also thankful that family and friends in the areas hit are all safe and accounted for.
I am thankful for each of you writers! I so thoroughly enjoy the gifts God has given you and the way you use them... the way they make me think, the laughter (I'm reading "Hot Tropics & Cold Feet" right now), the characters, etc., etc., etc. I also I am thankful for LIFE and the reminder after the devastating tornados here in Tuscaloosa and the Southeast, that God is sovereign and He uses all kinds of things to get our attention.
I am grateful for the many blessings that the Lord has placed in my life, but right now I am most especially grateful that I know that He is the source of my blessings and strength. How sad that so many people in this world don't know He is The Source.
As the prayer I learned as a child says "God is great, God is good."
What a blessing to read your comments! So thankful for those of you who escaped the tornado devastation and praying for those who felt its impact.
Much love to you all!
