Girls Write Out
Wednesday, March 19, 2008

This weekend my husband and I will be married 33 years, and I just realized this morning that I do not know the color of his favorite jelly bean.  You think you know a person.

Now, you may not think that's important, but let's be honest here. The little fact could have cost us the grand prize on The Newlywed Show.

Yes, it's THAT important.

So when he gets home tonight, it's the first thing I'm gonna ask him.

Now it's your turn. Think of the people closest to you. Do you really know them? What's their favorite color of jelly bean? This is the time of year to be finding out.

By the way, what's YOUR favorite color of jelly bean? Mine is Red . . . and white . . . and, um, purple and . . . I really like chocolate eggs, too, just so you know.

You mean regular jelly beans? I have no idea.
Now Jelly Belly's on the other hand...mm the buttered popcorn or the Dr Pepper or the chocolate pudding or the cream soda or the vanilla bean...I think I pretty much like them all :)

Oh and congrats on the 33 years!

Congrats on the wedding anniversary!

I am ashamed to say I don't know my husband's favorite color jelly bean either. We've been married 22 years. :(

My favorite is pink--even though my favorite colors are red and navy blue.

I am pretty sure my husband despises jelly beans, but he does love and eat by the pound, Hot Tamales, which is a "jelly bean" in a longer style and hot cinnamon flavored.

I have no idea what MY favorite color jelly bean, and that's after fifty years of living. Hmmm.

Now, I do like the new chocolate covered Sugar Babies--have you had them? They are divine. One of my favorite colors is brown, especially chocolate brown. Does that count??

Blech. I don't like jelly beans. If it's not chocolate, it's not worth the calories! LOL

Dave's is yellow.

I am ashamed to say that I don't know my OWN favorite color of Jelly Bean. Well, Jelly Bean is my favorite Niece, and she looks best in Purple. But that is a different subject.

Um, I like spice JB's and that means that the white is the best... clove! I also like the pink ones. You have to have Brach's brand for big ones, and Jelly Belly for minis. Minis, I like the Strawberry Cheesecake.

Hm, not sure. But I do know that he believes that the brown M&Ms are the best. I on the other hand am completely color blind when it comes to M&Ms. Do they make a chocolate jelly bean?

Oh man, Julie, I'm with you--bring on the M&Ms!!! Whoohooo!!!

Crystal, I haven't heard of the chocolate-covered Sugar Babies! Definitely something I will check into--thanks for the tip!

My hubby likes Jelly Belly's. But me, I just grab them by the handful! Can't do that with Jelly Belly's. They don't always go together! :-)

I love the red ones best then orange. I adore M&Ms, but the last time I ate them (at Di's suggestion, yes it's your fault!) I broke the veneer on my front tooth. And it was a plain M&M - not even a peanut one. Can you believe that? Sigh It's fixed now. My dentist laughed the whole time, too. I think Di owes me a DeBrands truffle for that, don't you? :D

My husband wouldn't eat a jelly bean (not healthy). My dad's favorite are black, my kids 1. won't eat them 2. got sick on them at the jelly belly factory 3. green 4. red

Oh my goodness, are you kidding me, Ane???? I had NO IDEA chocolate could be so dangerous!!!

Remind me near conference time and I'll bring you that truffle (if you promise not to break your tooth on it again!).

My dad, sister, and me love the Sour Grape Jelly Belly kind. I also like pear, apple, and peach. :)

She likes the black ones infact we fight for the black ones. but white, yellow, red, green are all good.

Jelly belly its Licrice and raspberry and pineapple and bannana. But Licrice (oh i need a spell check) is my favourite.

I like green jelly beans best as long as they are lime and not mint.
I like chocolate M&Ms best and so does my hubby.
I don't know much about my hubby actually, because he changes his mind about things constantly!

For real, Di. It's the candy shell that got me. :D And I'll remind you, don't worry! LOL :o)

My mother's favorite jelly beans are red and yellow, the hottest cinnamon in the Jelly Belly collection.

Cinnamon jelly beans are the only ones I can handle, and only in Jelly Belly. They have sugar free or low-sugar ones, but they're not nearly as good.

I can't grab a handful of jelly beans because I despise the licorice-flavored black ones. Is there an emoticon for blech!?

I think most of the family prefers cinnamon. My Norwegian niece, Marita, (OK, she was an exchange student and has been home for two years, but she's still my niece) will eat any color M&M. All that lucious Norwegian chocolate, and she wants us to send M&Ms.

BTW: it was the word verification that made me think of Marita. I think it's swearing at me in Norwegian.

Oh, I love jelly beans. It really take's my back and make's me think of my grandma on easter. I love the white one's! the red, pink, purple.... Oh, now I'll have to go buy a bag!

Oh, yeah Diann I read your book For Better or for Worse. I could see a lot of myself in Wendy. I love when she say's "I can't be myself around you." I know just how that feel's!
Happy Easter!

Well, Mum likes black ones and white 'lemonade' flavoured ones. Me, I prefer red and white. As for Jelly Belly's - watermelon, raspberry, pear.
I have to say I like peanut M&Ms better - my theory is that because of the nuts they are half healthy ;)

None of us like jelly beans. Now peanut butter eggs thats a different story. We can't keep them in the house.

There is a store in our small town that advertises Giant Jelly Beans. They are giant! People come from all over this time of year to get them. They are amazed when I tell them I've never had one. Don't think I am missing a thing.

So, you're post prompted me to ask my hubby, last night before we drifted off to sleep, what his favorite jelly bean is! The answer? Jelly Belly's pear.

Now I know.

You guys are making me sooooo want some chocolate, but then there's Denise's post about exercise . . . sigh. :-)

Orange, cherry and ultimately watermelon Jelly Bellies. Those are the only jelly beans that I like.

That means you got married the same weekend that I was born. If it was on Saturday, then it was also the same day. 75 was a good year.

Okay, Timothy, you just had to bring that up! LOL! You were born on our wedding day. I'm so old.

Where are those truffles . . . .
