SCISSOR FEAR
I woke up yesterday full of anticipation. A new haircut! Now mind you because of shingles I missed my January haircut so this mop hasn't had scissors to it in FOUR MONTHS! I'm all prepared when I drive to Ft Wayne to see my hairdresser. I've got pictures printed off the internet plus a hairstyle magazine with styles chosen in there. Kim is all excited that we're going for a new look. I sit down in the chair and face. . . THE SCISSORS.

When she brings out those puppies, my heart zips to my throat. What will it look like? Is this a big mistake? Maybe I'll look like a poodle--or even worse--OLDER! I take a deep breath and say nothing as Kim makes the first snip. By the time it's over, my hair litters the floor. LOTS of hair. I'm afraid to look but when I finally do, I love it. I should have done this sooner. It's fluffier than it looks in the picture and the layers released the bounce.

Diann's daughter Amber is going to take some better pictures tonight. I'll post some tomorrow and you can tell me: HOW DO I LOOK? LOL

I think it's totally cute! The big question is, what does Dave think??

What a fun cute cut! My problem is that I never can replicate what the stylist does. My hands aren't coming from the same direction. Not to mention the lack of talent. LOL!

Dave really liked it! What a shock. LOL

Linda, this is after I did it myself this morning!

You look beautiful! And YOUNGER!!

(I'm not just saying that because if I didn't like it I just wouldn't have responded to your question! LOL)

Oh wow, thanks, Suzanne! That was the goal--the younger part. LOL

Super cute Colleen. I love it. You look fabulous and young and it's obvious you're feeling that way too. THAT's the most important part. :)

Ditto on the other comments! That style looks totally cute, all wavy bounces. A definite keeper.

Thanks friends! Glad you don't think it made me look OLDER. The dreaded word. LOL

I love it. I think it looks fantastic. I'm a big believer that bangs work wonders for obtaining that youthful look. (Maybe that's why I've always had them.) Your new "do" is very cute and "you" while not being too drastic.

P.S. Your hair looks really healthy and shiny, too!

It looks great! I was wondering about you all day yesterday... and the anticipation has been crazy!

I love layers... for me, they're addicting!

Definitely "SASSY" I'd say!

I love it! But the big question is, what do you think? You look pleased.
I love getting haircuts!!

Ok here is the real truth. I think she is the prettiest girl in the world. I love long hair but I love her MORE. I think hair is something that you go through changes. Styles change all the time and what you like today you hate a year from now. This is just her short hair phase and she well grow out of it so to speak. LOL If it makes her happy, I'm happy.

Ah, How sweet Dave.
I think you look lovely and very happy Colleen.

Again, I want to find out if there's some way to clone Dave.

But Colleen, you look delightful and delighted.

My friends and I go to a salon called Moxie. We've turned it into slang for a good cut.

You've been Moxified.

Cute Colleen! I was about to send a private email to ask where the new hairdo was. I didn't realize the appt. wasn't until this week. Can't wait to see the other pics.

BTW, I met Dave in person a few weeks ago and he's as nice in person as he is here. :-)

I think you look adorable! It looks flirty and fun and casual...the exact opposite of your books :-) (which are intense, series, and suspenseful---but who would want hair like THAT??)

Dave, you're so sweet. And remember, there's always the wig if her "phase" doesn't end.

Colleen, Can you manage NOT to smile in the pix Amber takes? I mean, c'mon, you look now like you write chick lit! Cute and flippy and a smile to melt down the hardest criminal.

You are going to have somehow practice a scowl or something. And will it convey even with the fun, flippy hair??

Yes, hair grows out (this comes from a former Dorothy Hamill cut) but it can be painful sometimes.

If I could actually wear my hair how I wanted, I don't know what I'd do.
