Girls Write Out
Friday, January 16, 2009

Okay, trying not to freak out over the plane in the Hudson River thing.  GULP! Maybe it's a sign! I mean, hello? Birds! Do I REALLY want to go to England?

But they all got out alive and fine! And it would make a great book... :) Think of it as an adventure! lol :)

That's true, they did get out alive. That's a GREAT thing! But that water, Jessica! Cold water! LOL!

You're right, it would make a good book. Not sure I want to be the one to write it, though. ;-)

I know how you feel. When I first flew to Nepal and Thailand on a 17 hour flight I felt like toothpaste must feel - trapped in a long tubular object and waiting to be projectiled from it. However!!! It wasn't bad and now flying is great! I watch the movies, sleep, read a book, & stick my foot out and trip the stewardess' (or the flight attendants - sorry, i'm still old-school).

An overseas trip is totally worth it. I get massively homesick because I'm co-dependant on my DH and I spent 3 weeks backpacking all over. It's remarkably low crime rates over there, easy to find things, people in England are very nice - adn the double decker buses are worth the trip!! Those things are a blast! :)

oops - I never finished my thought (not that you wanted to hear it). My point was EVEN THOUGH I get massively homesick, I still went WITHOUT my DH and never regretted it for a moment. Even though I cried myself to sleep every night .... but that has nothing to do with planes.

ROTFLOL! I loved your comments, Jaime!! Especially, the toothpaste thing! What a great way to put it! LOL!

Thanks for your comments!

I actually thought about you and your fear of flying over the water.

That pilot yesterday was awesome and it's so wonderful that no one was badly hurt! And, it was actually a blessing that he could get to the water rather than crash on land!!

I'm with you, girl! I hate to hear about plane crashes. I mean, you have so looong to consider how much it's going to hurt!

Have you thought about a boat, Diann? :D

Don't worry, Diann -- the people on the plane all survived without a scratch (pardon the cliche). God protects His people!

Though yesterday I began weighing the pros and cons of cruise line ships. ; )

Don't stress too much Diann. Here's some GOOD NEWS about airline crashes:

Diann, Before my big trip to Hawaii and Canada in 2007 i had only flown in australia. But its amazing how many plane stories come out when you plan a big trip.
But I had a great time I actually do much better on big planes than the smaller ones and it was a great trip.
You will be fine. Australia to Canada is about 15 hours.

Diann,

I thought of you, too, when I heard of the story. I have yet to hear the details--which I can afford to do since I am not flying anytime soon.

I am excited for you and am threatening to create a girls-night-out to Europe after reading so many of Robin Jones Gunn's Sister-Chick books!

Have fun! (I mean if you decide to go!)

Don't watch the news.......not when it comes to plane crashes when you are thinking of going on a journey such as yours. HA!

Besides IF my plane "had" to crash.
I would want that pilot.

We took that same exact Airline and those same routes to NYC in Sept. and

So that freaked me out when I heard about the crash. Yikes!
